Season 9 Hollywood Spotlight - Colin Benward

Now that American Idol Season 9's Hollywood round has begun filming, I will be highlighting contestants that have been rumored to receive their golden ticket. As with all spoilers, we might get it wrong from time to time. It's possible we found the wrong person with the same name, or that they didn't make it to Hollywood, but our sources are pretty good. On with the show!

Colin Benward


Colin is our classic example of "White Guy With a Guitar". He's from Franklin, Tennessee and currently lives in Hollywood, California. He is the lead singer for a band called "Waterlow". They currently have 2 songs on myspace. The gritty sounding "Whispers Like Tidal Waves" is a great example of the unsigned talent American Idol is looking for. While the studio demo of "Say So" is a rock hit waiting to happen. I could hear this song on the radio right along side Kings Of Leon and Daughtry. Will American Idol have a 3rd Male winner in a row?
