Top 20 Part 1

Top 10 Boys - Live Blog
The top 10 guys sing tonight due to Crystal Bowersox' illness. Will they do better than last week? Keep an eye out on this post to find out!

Kara says the guys are going to "bring it". Simon says the girls are better.

Michael Lynche - "This Is A Man's World" by James Brown - So much better than last week. If all the guys can improve like he did, we're in for a good show. Randy gives Mike a standing ovation, says he is an "R&B Star". Ellen likes his song choices, says he is "The One To Beat". Kara says he can be a great artist. Simon says he went from being a pussycat to a lion in one week. (Download on iTunes)

John Park - "Gravity" by John Mayer - A bit better than last week, but still not amazing. John might be in trouble this week. Randy says it was not as good as the original. Ellen said it needed more soul. Kara said it was "way better than last week". Simon says "Purple Haze may get their lead singer back". (Download on iTunes)

Casey James - "I Don't Wanna Be" by Gavin Degraw - Very shaky performance for Casey. One of his worst in my opinion. Randy says his guitar playing was hot. Ellen says he sounded great, but he is too stiff. Kara says Casey took "two steps backwards". Simon says he agrees with Kara, says he does not have the grit to be a rock star. Kara was HARSH on Casey this week, I wish Kara would judge every contestant like that. (Download on iTunes)

Alex Lambert - "Everybody Knows" by John Legend - Alex looked much more comfortable on stage, and he delivered a solid performance. Not spectacular, but I think he will be safe. Randy says it was an improvement over last week. Ellen says it was so much better than last week; "Under that mullet is a little Sam Cook voice". Kara says he has a recordable voice. Simon says it was a million times better than last week, he says he does not need to be nervous anymore. (Download on iTunes)

Todrick Hall - "What's Love Got To Do With It" by Tina Turner - Not my favorite performance of the night, but he did okay. I like how he changes things up ever week. Randy says "a great song doesn't need a wild arrangement". Ellen wants Todrick to dance more, says it was not the right song. Kara agrees with Ellen, says he is "all over the place". Simon says it's not working out, said it was "corny". I think the judges are WRONG. Idol needs more uniqueness. I think Todrick's change ups have been great. (Download on iTunes)

Jermaine Sellers - "What's Goin On" by Marvin Gaye - Not very good. This is Jermaine's week to go home. Randy says it was "so close, but so far". Ellen says she likes his style, but the song didn't work. Kara says he is doing too much with the songs, making them feel forced. Simon says he is disappointed. Jermaine asks what he should sing next week, Simon says he might not be here next week. (Download on iTunes)

Andrew Garcia - "You Give Me Something" by James Morrison - Not that great. I think Andrew needs to stay behind his guitar. Randy says is was pitchy all over the place. Ellen says she likes it a lot and is a huge fan. Kara says he has been going down since Straight Up in Hollywood. Simon says he is not picking the right songs. (Download on iTunes)

Aaron Kelly - "My Girl" by The Temptations - Did NOT like this performance. I would not mind seeing Aaron leave this week. Randy says the first half of the song was brilliant. Ellen says she he sings very well, but choose a forgettable song. Kara says she really liked it. Simon says he didn't like the song, and that he needs to decide what kind of artist he wants to be. (Download on iTunes)

Tim Urban - "Come On Get Higher" by Matt Nathanson - Still just as bad as last week, but I think there were 2 people worse than him. Randy says is was very Karaoke. Ellen says he should act, and maybe sing "a little". Kara says she liked the song choice, but says he didn't make it his own. Simon says it was an improvement on last week, is he a worster? (Download on iTunes)

Lee Dewyze - "Lips Of An Angel" by Hinder - I can not stand this song, and Lee sounded like he has some sort of fake accent going on at the beginning, but I do like his voice. Randy says he is a huge fan. Ellen says there were some pitch problems, but she liked his passion. Kara says it was a big improvement over last week. Simon says he is "head and shoulders" over the other guys. (Download on iTunes)

My picks to go home: Jermaine & Aaron
Vote For The Worst Pick: Tim Urban
